Prophets of Rage is the politically charged supergroup consisting of Tom Morello, Brad Wilk and Tim Commerford of Rage Against The Machine (no Zack de la Rocha), Chuck D and DJ Lord of Public Enemy, and B-Real of Cypress Hill. On August 26 the group brought their tour to PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey for a night of rap-rock with a side of political angst.
The group ran through new collaborative versions of many famed cuts of their equally impressive catalogs, with a large majority coming from Rage Against The Machine’s catalog, with Chuck D and B-Real sharing Zack’s duties. They also took on a few Public Enemy and Cypress Hill tracks, as well as fitting covers of Beasties Boys’ “No Sleep Till Brooklyn” and a regional cover of Bruce Springsteen’s The Ghost Of Tom Joad.” Not to mention, a few new cuts from their debut EP The Party’s Over.
