On June 9 everyones favorite New Zealand comedic duo Flight Of The Conchords kicked off their 2016 tour, with their first show in a couple years, with a sold out performance at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester. The show was opened with a stand up set by comedian Arj Barker.
The duo, accompanied by cellist Nigel Collins (who quickly became a fan favorite) ran through many old favorites such as “Foux du Fafa” and “The Most Beautiful Girl (In The Room)” along with some newer numbers such as “The Seagull” and “1353 (Woo a Lady).” But as you’d come to expect from the quick-minded Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, a lot of the real fun came in-between songs and some of the banter they shared between the drunken fans in the audience.
It was one hell of a way to kick off a tour, and makes me hope that an eventual new album will be released soon, because it’s long overdue.
