After catching The Thermals a few days earlier at Bowery Ballroom, the Portland-trio returned for a show at Market Hotel in Brooklyn. Being a slightly smaller venue only added to the craziness of the enthusiastic Brooklyn crowd who were moshing and singing along to every word that Hutch Harris shouting at them throughout the night. The songs off The Body, the Blood, the Machine sounded even more urgent and athematic than they did at Bowery, making this the clear winner out of the two shows. I ended up speaking to Harris after the show, and he said it was the best Brooklyn crowd that they’d ever played to. Enough said.
Find some shots of their performance below, along with Summer Cannibals and Amanda X, who opened the show.
