You may remember an artist by the name of Lean Grimes who we posted around here a couple of years ago. The project was initially based on sampling mp3’s of brand new indie music that Conerty found on blogs and making his own unique remixes through them. Well the project is now known as Color Collage and has shifted gears into something much more.
He’s released a new single called “2048” that has garned titled such as “electronic doo wop.” It features a beachy old-school sound, blended tightly with electronic elements that create a wonderful new world. It instantly works its magic on you, sounding embedded in the past, but also focused on the future. It will be included on Shane’s debut album as Color Collage Pieced Together which will be released via Paper Garden Records.
He’s released a video for “2048” which has plenty to say about the effects of technology on our society, including at shows. Find that posted below along with the regular stream.
