On Saturday night Los Angeles rock group Francisco The Man returned to New York City for a show at The Studio at Webster Hall. The stop was a part of their tour for Loose Ends, which was released last year via Small Plates Records.
It was my first time seeing the band play since our co-hosted CMJ show with Danger Village. But this was the same band, full of larger than life rock anthems that simply can’t be contained. Song after song they were delivering the goods, making me really stop and wonder why these guys haven’t blown up in a much bigger way, because they have the sort of songs that would have no problem filling much bigger spaces as well as radio waves.
Either way, it’s great to see a rock band like Francisco The Man still out there doing there thing, delivering passionate rock songs that chug along in a furious, passionate manner. They’re the sort of band made to see in the live setting, with a beer in hand, letting loose and feeling free.
Below find some photos from the show, as well as some upcoming tour dates. Go catch them if they’re stopping near you.
