Silkies came together in Austin one night when Caufield Schnug and Lira Mondal decided to write a song together and partnership instantaneously produced the jangly wonder, “Like One”. It’s taken from their debut EP of the same title, which is out now via Young Latitudes. You can listen to the whole EP here and buy it at your own price.
The song is a simple but well executed measure of lo-fi garage pop that works so well because they aspire to catch the spontaneity of recordings first live take, using the attraction of sonic space and location to effect the recording.
