Cut Copy have announced that they will release new album Zonoscope on February 8th. Posted above is the stunning album art, created by the late Tsunehisa Kimura.

Spin just posted an article about the album and it features some quotes from the band’s Tim Hoey. He said they used all sort of electronic instruments, snyths, and computers, but they also have a contrast of organic sounds. He said the album art’s image is something that they aspired to get across on the album.

“Where I’m Going”, a song that the band released earlier this year, is included on Zonoscope. Do hold on to your original download, as the version on the album is different.

“There’s actually a new mix of that song on the album which is more like the original vision we had for that song: more chant-y, kind of tribal, and probably less pop than the version that came out a couple of months ago,” said Hoey.

The band recorded the album while locked up alone in a raw industrial warehouse space in Melbourne. They had no internet, barely any heat, just themselves and their gear. Hoey said they created a new world with the record. Can’t wait to venture out into this world.
