I love The Strokes. No matter what happens, they will always have a spot in my favorite bands of all time list. They were a huge part of my teenage years, and they play a big role now. I have to admit, that I’m really starting to worry about their new album. The band has been recording separately from Julian, who is recording his stuff separate from the band so his “controlling side” doesn’t get in the bands way. Apparently this is going to be the most collaborative album that the band has done yet, so it’s going to have a little bit of input from everyone, rather than mostly Jules.

That’s not what I’m worried about. I’m excited to see what they can churn out as a team. The album was supposed to be released this fall, but then it got pushed back to January 2011. Now after a recent Julian C interview with BBC, it’s going to come out in March. The album is halfway done, but clearly there is still a lot of work to do.

Sure I’d rather they take their time and develop the fullest quality project that they’re capable of. At the same time, I’m just worried that pushing this album further will cause the band more stress which could lead to this whole thing getting canned. It’s no secret that the band has been on the brink of possible extinction for some time now, and after listening to the BBC interview, one will discover that Julian C is starting to really love life as a solo artist.

Lets hope that this album gets done and that it goes well, cause after hearing this interview it certainly seems that their fate is resting on it. Listen to the interview highlights below:
