Do you guys remember WinterKids, the much blogged about band from around 2006-2007? I was listening to their awesome debut album Memoirs the other day and it made me realize that the band hasn’t been heard from for over 4 years. I went over to their myspace and it had nothing. There website just lead to an empty domain page. I was puzzled. I finally landed on the webpage of Flight Of Kites. Turns out that WinterKids have changed their name, completely moving on from Winterkids to Flight Of Kites.
This was heartbreaking for me, but luckily the band has not broken up or changed the lineup. Their website actually covers the reasons for the name changes. They are now the house band for a telivision show called Little House TV. The band felt that things were heading in a different direction for them, which called out for a name change.
So now they are Flight Of Kites, and they are currently in the process of writing new material. They left us with this:
Having said all of this, we are still the same line up, we aren’t scrapping our old songs and WinterKids is very much part of our history.
Sounds cool to me. I can’t wait to see what the future has in-store for them. For now, enjoy three of my favorite songs from WinterKids:
