I don’t ask much from you lord, but please let Spin be telling the truth when they report that The Strokes are going to get their new album out by September. In an article that they posted yesterday, the magazine reported that the ultra cool Strokes drummer Fab Moretti claimed the album has a “tentative release date of September” during a convo with Radio One‘s Zane Lowe. Moretti said that “basic tracks are done… now we’re just running around like kids in a candy shop. He described the experience of coming back together once again as, “Coming back in and writing music was kind of like riding a bicycle.” The band is working hard recording the album at Avatar Studios in NYC with producer Joe Chiccarelli, and engineer Gus Oberg.

It is comforting for us to finally get real confirmation that things are falling back into place for our favorite NYC rockers. Now that they are shooting for a September release date, we can breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that the 4th album is truly happening.

They are also getting ready for their festival appearance at the Isle Of Wright music festival in the UK. It’s their first performance in a long time, so they are gonna have to practice pretty hard to get the old songs down again. I hope the band misses us New Yorkers enough to come play at All Points West and give us the exclusive debut of those new songs. What do you say guys???
