Los Angeles-based dream pop band Nightjacket recently returned with their single “My Only Heart,” a song written by the band’s Jordan Wiggins about capturing the “exhilarating feeling of being completely known and loved by another person.”
The track carries itself with a strong feeling of melancholy and nostalgia, that blends elements of dream pop with an early 2000s indie spirit, that delivers a magical feeling in there. It’s a song with a strong vibrant nature that just has this life-affirming spark about it that hits all the right notes, while also bringing plenty of glorious lush pop hooks to it.
Speaking about the track, Wiggins adds:
I was trying to capture a glimpse of how Danielle makes me feel. She’s so bright, which I think “My Only Heart” conjures with its resonant, swirling guitars and grooving rhythm section. At the same time, she’s down to earth and comforting, which Andrea’s vocals really drive home
