Chicago-natives Desert Liminal returned in October with their new album, Black Ocean, released via Fantastique.

One of the standout singles from the record is “Punk House Way Out”, a meditative slow burn of a shoegaze track with a hypnotic widescreen atmosphere. There’s a lush sense of melancholy to be found, as they detail below:

The purposeful production on this track nests the entire song within the guitar part. I wrote this song about moving through different underground artist communities lead by egotistical men yet still hoping for genuine connection. The hook is “trying to live in the hum of the right song.”
