the IV is the project of Norweigan musician Ingvild Nærum, who is joined by Per Åsmund Reymert (Dead Movie Animals, Despereaux) and Peter Hiley (Are You Having Fun Yet, Gold Celeste, Mats Wawa, The Wit), who recently shared their single “Same old story.”
The track examines “our role as consumers of culture through the lens of Freud’s dream-work theory” and delivers its message with a solemn atmospheric blend of post punk and new wave – with a gothic nature that feels like a cinematic stroll through an abandoned city at night.
Or as they put it:
Entertainment permeates our culture, waiting with open arms to catch us as we escape from an increasingly overwhelming world.
Keeping us amused has never been so lucrative.
