Oakland, California indie outfit Parallel released their new EP, Flooded, earlier this month via Cherub Dream Records. We previously shared single “Blister” and today share EP standout “Painkiller.”

The track is described as an “anthemic exploration of queer love and lust, addressing intimacy as both a source of profound existential fear and an intoxicating remedy for isolation and despair.” It has a distinctive 90s sound that blends elements of post-punk with flourishes of a 90s rock sound that feels like a blend of DIIV and Alex G, with a dark yet inviting atmosphere to it.

Enjoy a listen below and find the EP available to stream and buy at Bandcamp.
