Loyal People is the art rock project of drummer/multi-instrumentalist Jeffrey Lamoureux, who recently released his debut album, I. It’s a record that sees him set out to “capture a spirit of movement and draws from psychedelia, krautrock, jazz, trip-hop, avant pop and electronica.”
He does just that, especially on album opener and highlight, “Imprisoned River.” The seductive and groovy track feels like it blends the cinematic electronic grooves and soundscapes of Tycho and Bonobo, with the funky nature of Khruangbin.
