Anthony Pirog, who you may know as a member of The Messthetics, is preparing for the release of his new solo album, Nepenthe Series Vol. 1 out November 10th via Otherly Love.
He’s tapped a few famous guests that are featured on the album, including Wilco’s Nels Cline on album opener “Ripples of Light.” It’s a warm synth and largely ambient piece that does not feature any of the ripping guitar work that fans of Wilco may expect. It taps into a mood and a bit of a cinematic element of almost unease that is also soothing.
