[photos/review]: St. Vincent at College Street Music Hall (October 15, 2021)

St. Vincent, who is currently on tour in support of her new album Daddy’s Home, followed her big showing at Radio City Music Hall with a more intimate performance at College Street Music Hall in New Haven, Connecticut.

This was our second time seeing her perform on this tour following her performance in Chicago as a part of the Pitchfork Music Festival. Seeing her in this setting was a treat considering the now sizable rooms she is normally playing, especially seeing a performance that features three backing singers and dancers and a bit more of a tongue-in-cheek performative aspect.

The songs off of Daddy’s Home do shine a bit more in the live setting where they’re surely well-suited for the more theatrical elements of the show. It surely marked that this is the new era of Annie Clark and St. Vincent, as aside from a handful of older favorites, the setlist was mostly the new songs and those off of her previous release, MASSEDUCTION.
