When I first started this blog in 2008, I had one simple goal: share the best music I found with my friends. A lot has changed since then, with the site focusing on not only new music but concert photography, reviews, and much more.
For me, movies have always been an equally ferocious passion of mine, one that became impossible to ignore. I always wanted to write about movies and so in 2013, I decided to start a movie blog Monday Morning Matinee as the answer. At the time, I contemplated just doing movie reviews and musing right here but was afraid about mixing my drinks, so to speak.
With Monday Morning Matinee, I have had a ton of new experiences with a great small team of writers who joined me along the way. But after so many years, I have decided that it is time to close that chapter and start the one that probably was always meant to be right here.
I have decided to shut down Monday Morning Matinee as I think it ran its natural course. But I didn’t want to stop writing about movies and figured that I would do what I should’ve done 7 years ago and combine the two entities to make We All Want Someone To Shout For a place that celebrates the best in both music and movies.
Anyone who knows me or follows me on social media is hit with a furious combination of concert/music posts as well as my thoughts of movies. So for many, this makes sense. But if you are used to only music posts, this may be a shock. We hope that this won’t be too much of a shock and that you continue with us on this new journey. Nothing else will change, just a few additional writers joining the team and a few movies reviews in between all the usual content.
