Wax Chattels are a three-piece rock group from Auckland, New Zealand who released their self-titled debut album on May 18 via Captured Tracks. They’re a self-described band that makes “guitarless guitar music,” overwhelming the senses with a dose of heavy energy with just a keyboard, bass and drums.

Take the wild album track “In My Mouth” a frantic high-octane track that comes flying out of the speakers like a bat out of hell and never lets up. Their sound is very much indeed inline with the genre of rock but at the same time, its very much in its own universe completely.
