Madison Square Garden, The Worlds Most Famous Arena, is now home to the one and only Eric Prydz show, EPIC 3.0. Fans from around the world that filled into the arena performance were treated to a 3-hour spectacle and true to its name, it can be described as no less than epic (3.0).

For those familiar with Eric Prydz and his unfaltering work ethic, going into his show is like watching a maestro leading an orchestra of graphics, lighting, engineering and HOLOGRAMS (yes). If you came out of MSG on Saturday with your mind blown, it may be hard to impress you anymore. Prydz was in complete control of every element of his live show in real time. He was responsible for all aspects of the mindfuck that is EPIC 3.0, the light show, the music, and the world’s largest indoor hologram (probably the first time someone managed to outshine Tupac?), at the same time. Oh, you’re good at multitasking? When Prydz dropped Hit Me With Those Laser Beams, he stunned everyone in attendance with the display of lasers he brought along. True to the title, MSG lit up leaving everyone in awe.

He teased Every Day in the first hour, which left everyone salivating for the conclusion of it; thankfully he came through in the last hour by finishing it off. He played a variety of his material that he does under the monikers PRYDA and Cirez D, which brought his deeper house, progressive house aspects to light. Let’s not forget the incredible covers he graced our ears with. Depeche Mode Personal Jesus remix was played and singing “reach out and touch faith” with thousands upon thousands of people was unreal. Prydz, closed out the set with his remix of CHVRCHES Tether, which may have been intended to wrap things up, but only succeeded in leaving us drooling for more. The set came to an end, never has three hours gone by so quickly.

Prydz never spoke to the crowd, he didn’t need to. The amount of energy that emulated from him was contagious and enveloping that everyone in the massive arena felt the love and the passion he put into EPIC 3.0.

Prydz lost money on this show, he priced the tickets cheap and the budget was massive. This was not about outselling other DJ’s or making money, this was beautiful, spiritual, emotional, intangible, and epic (3.0). A gift to the city of New York and the fans that raised him up to the electronic deity he has become.

EPIC 4.0? One can only hope.
