Haven’t heard of it? Eden, directed by Mia Hansen-Løve, is an upcoming drama detailing the rise of a DJ during the garage-genesis of the French house music scene, (and thus, ‘EDM’ as we know it) in the 1990’s. While the film is fiction, it seems to be set in a historical context, featuring the portrayals of many prominent artists from the time. It’s set to the tunes of a certain robotic duo…have a look:

In the trailer we see an early Thomas and Guy-Man of Daft Punk, and the film supposedly has a ton more notable DJs. The rest of the information is sparse at best, but Hansen-Løve’s previous work deals heavily in relationships, so I would expect something of that nature.

Eden is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 14th, 2014. Later, it will have it’s US premiere at the 52nd New York Film Festival (NYFF), which we’re covering, so we’ll be able to get a review for you!

But for now, throw on Homework, close your eyes, and imagine yourself in a Parisian flat permeated by bass and bodies.
