Even if the name Jessica Dobson doesn’t ring any bells at first glance, chances are you know her. You’ve probably seen her playing in recent live lineups of acts such as The Shins and Beck over the last few years. It just so happens that she also has fronts her group, Deep Sea Diver. The band also includes Peter Mansen, Garrett Gue and Elliot Jackson.
This week they released their brand new EP Always Waiting, which features the stunning single “One By One.” It’s an epic showcase of their talents, showing off a larger scale sound that surely has come from all the time spent touring with such influential acts. There’s a heavy St. Vincent influence at play, as elements of Dirty Projectors and tUnE-yArDs.
