The always great La Blogotheque has done it yet again. To celebrate the release of Johnny Cash’s Out Among The StarsĀ (a lost album that just got released), they gathered some great artists who would perform live covers of its songs.
Director Arturo Perez Jr. filmed Brandon Flowers (of The Killers) w/ Dawes, Local Natives, and Father John Misty all performing covers. Flowers and Dawes performed “I Came To Believe”, Local Natives played “Out Among The Stars”, and Father John Misty plays “Baby Easy Ride.” Local Natives did their own thing with the cover and made a beautiful creation. I’m floored by it. It was also very cool to see Brandon Flowers with Dawes as well as FJM, who had a perfect handle on the Johnny/June track.
Perez films each performance in a desert setting as the day turns into night. As you’d expect, it’s elegantly shot to perfection. It’s a must watch for many reasons. Find it posted below.
