If your a Yankees fan, or even a baseball fan, you’re well aware that the great career of Yankees closer Mariano Rivera is sadly coming to an end. As a die-hard Yankees fan, this is hard for me to accept. But with all the cool acts that fans and other organizations around baseball are doing for Mariano, it’s making it a little bit easier.
Yesterday the Yankees honored Rivera in a pre-game tribute. For his entire career Rivera has walked out to the field with Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” as his warmup theme song. It was only fitting that Metallica came out to play live during the ceremony, letting Rivera literally walk out to the field as they played the song that has been associated with him for so long.
A really cool moment for not only Yankee fans, but all of baseball. Check it out below.
