As much as I hate to think about it, Breaking Bad is coming to an end at the end of the month. That means there will be a huge gap in my television schedule. Thankfully HBO has a new show coming up called True Detective that looks absolutely stunning.
The show centers on two detectives, Rush Cohle (the red hot Matthew McConaughey) and Martin Hart (Woody Harrelson). Their lives collide together during a 17-year hunt for serial killer in Louisiana. The show starts with the investigation taking place in 1995, and then becomes interlaced with testimonies from 2012 when the case is reopened. The show was created by Nic Pizzolatto, and will be directed by Cary Fukunaga (Jane Eyre, Sin Nombre).
The first trailer looks stunning, in terms of atmosphere and acting. I can’t wait to check this out. It will premiere on HBO sometime in January 2014.
