If you’re going to succesfully market a comedy, you should take notes on how the first trailer for Neighbors was released. Don’t screw around. Get to the point. A red-band trailer that shows you just enough of the funny to get you interested and introduce the plot. Don’t show all your tricks all at once (as too many trailers do), but makes sure what you do show counts.
Neighbors (made by the same team behind This Is The End) stars Seth Rogan and Rose Bryne as a couple with a new born baby that move into what they think is their dream house and neighborhood. Only a fraternity house is right next door, lead by Zac Effron and Dave Franco. Antics ensues and a rivalry is born. The pairing of Effron and Franco is pure genius, and based on the Robert Deniro scene in the trailer, should have been a pair that someone else should have made long, long, ago. Also, what a glorious appearance by Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
Nicholas Stoller directed the film.
Neighbors looks hilarious, I have high hopes for this. It’s due out May 9, 2014. Find the red-band trailer below, obviously its NSFW.
