2011’s The Muppets movie was a smashing success. Everything from Jason Segal to Amy Adams and the amazing songs from Bret McKenzie worked. Sad to say that Segal and Adams are gone, but I have hopes that the sequel, Muppets Most Wanted, will be just as loveable as the previous film was.
James Bobin, director of The Muppets, returned to direct. Bret McKenzie also returned to write the songs. The film features a wide variety of stars such as Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell, Christoph Waltz, Salma Hayek, Tom Hiddleston, Debby Ryan, Danny Trejo, Tina Fey, Ray Liotta, Usher, Frank Langella, P. Diddy, and Celine Dion.
The first teaser is more of a teaser announcement of the film than a trailer that tells us what the plot is about. It sets out to be fun, and looks rather goofy. The charm that Jason Segal brought to the prior film seems to be missing, but hopefully the next trailer will correct that.
