Cheap Thrills is the directorial debut of E.L. Katz, and it looks like it’s going to be quite a ride. After losing his job and facing eviction, Craig (Pat Healy) runs into an old friend (Ethan Embry) who is also an ex-con. While the friends reunite, they meet a interesting couple named Colin (David Koechner) and Violet (Sara Paxton). He is a wealthy man who seems to be bored for some silly fun. He challenges Craig and Vince to a serious of challenges that he offers them some serious cash for completing.
Only things begin to get out of hand and take an ugly tern as the competitions become more and more serious and dangerous as the stakes are raised. As you see from the trailer, things get out of hand real fast and it looks like a mix of disturbing violence and black humor. This could be one of the most sick twisted films you see all year, and I’m all for it. It looks very interesting.
