The Canyons is one of the more…interesting films to come out during the 2nd half of 2013. It’s a low-budget film directed by Paul Schrader and written by Bret Easton Ellis, that has been getting plenty of attention because of its casting of Lindsay Lohan as the lead, as well as porn star James Deen.
That was really all I knew about it, until now, as the first trailer has been released. I expected this to be a piece of throwaway trash, but surprisingly, it doesn’t look all that terrible. I’m actually somewhat curious to see what the film is all about. The trailer gives you just enough without spelling out the plot, but it has a interesting tone and feel to it, that is a bit more serious that I ever could expected.
The Canyons comes out on August 2. The trailer is below.
