A teaser trailer has been released for the Nelson Mandela biopic, Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom. Idris Elba stars as the legendary Mandela, and the film is directed by Justin Chadwick. The trailer gives us a faraway look at Elba as Mandela, but we get to hear him speak. It does it’s job, and it confirms my belief that Elba will definitely enter the Oscar hunt with this performance. The film is definitely going to make a strong Oscar push as a whole, with it’s release date slated at the end of the year.
Naomie Harris will play his wife, Winnie Mandela. The film also stars Tony Kgoroge, Riaad Moosa, Zolani Mkiva, Terry Pheto, Jamie Bartlett, Lindiwe Matshikiza, and Deon Lotz.
