The trailer for Out Of The Furnace is finally here, and it looks even better than I imagined. It’s a film starring Christian Bale who plays Russell Baze, a man whose brother Rodney (Casey Affleck) gets in trouble with a hard criminal Curtis DeGroat (Woody Harrelson). After Rodney goes missing, it’s up to Russell to track Rodney down by going through Harrelson and his men.
This looks like a great role for Bale, but the star of the trailer is Woody Harrelson who looks downright scary. This could be a potential Oscar type performance from what I can see. This comes from director Scott Cooper who directed Crazy Heart, who is 1-1, so the odds are in his favor for a favorable performance with Out Of The Furnace.
Based on the thrilling trailer, the great use of Pearl Jam’s “Release” and a exceptional cast featuring Bale, Harrelson, Affleck, Zoe Saldana, Willem Dafoe, Forest Whitaker, and Sam Shepard, we have high hopes for this one.
