In the summer of 2011 I saw Wild Beasts play a great show at Le Poisson Rouge. A young man by the name of Marques Toliver opened for them, and wowed me. He has a unique style that is somewhere in-between classical music and r&b. It’s pretty incredible to be honest with you.
He just announced that his debut album is titled Land Of CanAan and will come out May 14 via Bella Union. To hold us over for now, here’s a little taste of the album in the form of a live performance of “Control”.
