The only time that I have seen Prince Rama was when they backed up Deakin during his solo set at Cake Shop during CMJ two years ago. I had not seen them proper ever, and didn’t know what to really expect coming in. Hot damn, these two girls really put on an incredible live show. Heavy on the bass and freak-psych elements, they hit you hard at multiple angles.
It makes sense that Animal Collective snagged on their label Pat Tracks. Prince Rama are pushing many boundaries and experimenting with multiple sounds and genres, I was left very, very, impressed with their power live.
