Kendrick Lamar is certainly rap’s next big thing – if he isn’t already there yet. I prove my case with his latest track, “Compton”, which has a big guest spot from Dr. Dre himself. That’s some pretty big stuff. The track hits hard with a classic 90’s beat, which was produced by Just Blaze. This is taken from his big major label album, good kid, m.A.A.d. city, out October 22 on Top Dawg Entertainment/Interscope/Aftermath.
With artists like Mr. Lamar, there’s good reason to find joy in modern hip-hop right now.
