Sleeper Agent opened and did the opposite of put me to sleep. They were lively and entertaining. They had plenty of big riff and a lovely lead singer in Alex Kandel who kept the crowd into their performance. I had no idea who they were coming in to the show, but I left eager to look them up.
What do I possibly need to say about Weezer? They were amazing when I saw them perform Pinkerton on the Memories tour, but they didn’t play much of the blue album as a result. This show fixed that, as the band literally tour through all of their greatest hits, mostly sticking to their roots with The Blue Album. They hardly even touched their newer material, which says it all. The crowd sang back every single lyric from the opening licks of “Tired Of Sex” & “My Name Is Jonas”, to the powerful encore closer, “Say It Aint So”.
Weezer have still got it live, and they know what the crowd wants to hear, and deliver beyond expectations.
