One of my favorite bands, The Walkmen, are releasing a new album titled Heaven. It will come out on June 5 via Fat Possum/Bella Union. Phil Ek produced the album, which is the bands seventh. Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold even sings harmonies on two songs on the album.
When describing The Walkmen’s new album, lead singer Hamilton Leithauser portrays a band hitting maturity, comfortable in its mastery after a decade together. “We felt like it was time to make a bigger, more generous statement,” he said.
The album was recorded in woods just outside of Seattle for what the band called the most intense recording sessions that they had ever experienced.
Find a teaser for the album below. The album art is also posted, after the jump. Heaven is easily my most anticipated album of 2012 as of now.
