Many people were (rightfully) upset that Nickelback were the halftime “entertainment” at the Lions/Packers Thanksgiving day game. People tried to petition them off, but to no avail. Mayer Hawthorne campaigned to take their spot, but as you saw, Nickelback didn’t give it up.
Hawthorne compromised by broadcasting a mini-show in his family’s basement on turkey day. His dad is even playing bass. It’s a great performance, definitely check it out below via Rolling Stone.
