The Kooks are back with the announcement of their 3rd studio album, which will be titled Junk Of The Heart. In a press release, frontman Luke Pritchard said:

It’s upbeat; an album to play in the sun. What we really wanted to do was build a proper, full album. Something you can listen to from front to back. We’re an album band and this is a journey you come on with us.

Call them a guilty pleasure of mine, sure. Their first album was a fun, energetic dash of catch British pop-rock. Their 2nd album had some delightful moments as well. Junk Of The Heart was recorded with producer Tony Hoffer at The Sound Factory in LA and Sarm Studios in London. Hoffer produced both of The Kooks previous albums.

The album will drop on September 13th via Astralwerks Records. A single sharing the same title will come out on June 11th. The band is stopping by Bowery Ballroom on June 27th to preview some new material. Tickets go on sale in 20 minutes right here.
