Minutes ago Zane Lowe premiered Arctic Monkeys‘ “Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair”, the first single from new album Suck It And See. Upon first impression, I’m simply stunned. Immediately Alex’s vocals stand out. He’s once again improved his singing dramatically. Then they deliver what may be their heaviest guitar riff yet. It’s a joyful sonic overload of desert stoner rock. This is music that you will want to blast while driving on the highway with the windows way down.
It’s not an immediate hook friendly song, but this is an impressive display of musicianship that continues to showcase the band’s incredible development. You got to give the band credit, they pick their singles with good merit. Quality my friends. Give this time to grow on you. Time has always treated their tunes quite nicely.
Arctic Monkeys have come a long, long way. I don’t think any other band has shown the development and evolution like they have. You got to give them that much. Bring on the rest of Suck It And See.
The band has already uploaded the song to soundcloud. Take a listen below.
