I’m not as knowledgeable about Bob Dylan as I should be, I admit that. Although, I would call myself a pretty casual fan. I’ve been meaning to dive into his (intimidating) catalog, but I haven’t found the time  (shame on me, I know). When I found out that he was coming to play at my school, how could I possibly not go?

I went into the show knowing that his voice was pretty rough these days. It was hard to accept at first, but I soon got used to it and was able to work around it. His band was incredibly tight, and the Dylan quality songs obviously shined through. It was the first time I’ve ever seen a crowd so mixed with young kids and much older adults. It was quite a site.

Dylan played a great mix of songs from his albums that should have left everyone in attendance, pleased in some way. He ended his set with the only song he could: Like A Rolling Stone. Now I can tell my grand kids that I heard it.

Not a bad way to spend a Thursday night in Binghamton.
