This is a throwback from 2006, but I just re-discovered it and I had to share it. It’s from Liverpool pop rockers Johnny Boy. They released one album as a band (it was self titled) back in 2006, and have since disappeared. The album gave us one of last decades best songs (in my opinion, at least) : “You Are The Generation That Bought More Shoes And You Get What You Deserve”.

It’s just a powerful, uplifting, song that just makes you feel good. This is what music is all about folks. It has the big grand stadium sound that so many strive for, yet it has a soft indie sound hidden within. It’s literally the best of both worlds.

Sure “You Are The Generation..” was included in Pitchfork’s Top 500 songs of the decade, but I feel like it never did get the widespread acclaim that it deserves. So I want to try and spread the word about this fantastic song, and hopefully you will do the same.
