How do you not love the Morning Benders? The San Francisco boys (now stationed in NYC!) are truly one of the best bands currently making pop rock tunes. The best part is that they are just getting started. Their new album Big Echo is bound to be one of 2010’s finest, and so far all the songs that we have heard from it (check out “Promises” right here) are fantastic. What’s not to love about the benders?
Yours Truly shot the band wonderful performance of Big Echo opening track “Excuses”. It was my first time ever hearing the song, and I am absolutely floored. It is pretty masterful! The band obviously realized the live potential of the song, and have been recently influenced by Phil Spector’s “Wall Of Sound” (see the note from the band, to Phil, posted below) The band got some of their musicians and friends from their San Francisco home, and formed the Big Echo Orchestra. They all came together to give the song a true “wall of sound”, and the result is pretty god damn good.
The Morning Benders and Big Echo Orchestra give a bloody brilliant performance of “Excuses”. This is not to be missed! I can tell you firsthand that the Benders do indeed rock it live, as I have seen them live before (opened for the kooks in 2008).
