I’ve been getting so much new indie rock, that I was pretty much ignoring the hype/build up of Lil’ Wayne’s “rock album”; Rebirth. It just didn’t seem like the greatest idea to me. My friends It’s A Rap and Pigeons and Planes are rap blogs, so I have been checking out the status of Rebirth from them.

Even though Lil’ Wayne is going to be sentenced to prison on Feb 9th of next year, Rebirth still should be coming out Feb 1st, 2010. However, most people believe that the album is probably going to be delayed even more.

YET, over the last few days Amazon seems to have accidentally sent out hundreds of early copies of Weezy’s “rock album” to customers who pre-ordered it, and now tracks are leaking! One of the tracks is called “Drop The World”, and it features Eminem. The song is pretty interesting, not sure what to make of it as a whole yet. It starts off pretty cool with a decent beat and rhymes. Then it goes into the chorus, and this is where I got confused. I understand he is trying to rock out, but I am not sure if it clicks. I was asking myself if it was memorable, and I am not sure if it is.

Eminem drops a pretty great rap on “Drop The World”. It reminded me of the old Eminem, which is something that rap could use more of. Relapse was a decent album, but not what I hoped for.

I don’t post too much rap on here but this song is worth a listen at this least. Listen to it below:
