Q Magazine called Woodhands one of the 10 Best New Bands on earth. To some that may mean the world, and to others that may mean jack shit. Either way, no press is bad press. Interested in hearing what Woodhands are all about now? I bet you are.
Well….Woodhands are an electro-duo from Toronto featuring Daniel Werb and Paul Banwatt. Paul Banwatt is also a member of we all want someone to shout for favorites, the Rural Alberta Advantage. They make tight dance music that is fresh to death. The clubs should be pumping these anthems out 24/7! They are known for great live shows with no pre-programmed samples, no laptops, just straight out jams! They have toured all over the world, and are set to release a new EP called Dancer.
Check out two standout tracks from their debut album Heart Attack : “Dancer” and “I Wasn’t Made For Fighting” to see waht they are all abut. After you get your fix, check out their covers of Eddy Grants “Electric Avenue” and Katy Perrys “I Kissed A Girl”. Tell me you are not impressed?
-btw after listening the drumming for Woodhands, and in RAA, it is safe to say Paul Banwatt is one of the best drummers in indie music today.
