There is a god. Someone was kind (and smart) enough to record a bootleg of the Arctic Monkeys new songs from their Wellington gig. As I posted before the titles of the new songs are: Crying Lightning, Dangerous Animals, Go-Kart, and Prety Visitors. The quality is ten times better than pretty much all of the videos on youtube, but there obviously is still more to be desired. But hey, I am just thankful that some decent recording of these new songs are out there!! Matt’s drumming continues to blow me away. He is such a talented drummer, he really needs to be recognized a lot more.

These new songs are great. You can really see a Josh Homme influence in some of the songs. They are heavier!! The lads also continue their darker theme with these new set of songs. It is hard to make a judgment when the songs are not in the best quality so I will just say that I am happy from what I heard and look forward to better versions in the future. I will say that Crying Lightning really made a strong impression on me, but the other 3 tracks are not trailing by much. The songs display tons of growth for the band, but they do not stray too far from the Arctic’s past sound. This is a characteristic most bands would die for. These guys have yet to make a song that I disliked. The Arctics seem to be set to release another stellar album, if these songs are any indication. Check ’em out:
