Rip on them all you want but I am a Snow Patrol fan. Way before ‘Chasing Cars’ became a mega-hit. However don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy that song a lot. I think they do what they do quite well. They were not always a mainstream chart topping band, if you don’t believe me look into the albums Songs For Polarbears and ‘When It’s All Over We Still Have To Clear Up’ if you don’t believe me. It was not until the song ‘Run’ took their album ‘Final Straw’ to the charts, that they became a mainstream act. Cheers to them. They put on a good live show to.
Anyway back to the song. So mr. damien over at damien is listening to
gave me notice that the song had made its way over to the web. I was pretty stoked to hear it. The song is ‘Take Back The City’, and it will be on their new album “A Hundred Million Suns’ due for release October 28th. The song starts off with some acoustic guitars, kick drums, then Gary Lightbodys ever so familiar vocals. They create big hooks and memorable meolodies. This is a pretty good song.
If they keep creating great anthem’s, I will keep listening. Ignore the ‘Chasing Cars’ hate, there is a lot more to the band than that. Go to damien is listening to to stream the track. Buy ‘A Hundred Million Suns’ when it comes out near you or here.
