Glasser and Empress Of kicked off my CMJ week on Tuesday night for the True Panther/Terrible Records showcase at Music Hall of Williamsburg, and it was a good one.

I previously saw Empress Of last CMJ, during her first show ever, over at 285 Kent. This time she had a more polished and fuller sound that already shows even more growth and promise for the talented young Lorely Rodriguez.

Glasser (who I last saw at CMJ as well) came on next and devastated me with a set that played more as a trance dream state than anything else. Cameron Mesirow brings her powerful vocal talents and places it into a different dimension live with trippy backgrounds to complement it all. It’s easy to get lost in her talent, as she holds you hand and takes you on a ethereal journey that was quite mind-blowing. I would see her again immediately in a heartbeat.

Check out photos of both Glasser/Empress Of’s set below.
