It’s been about a year since I’ve been celebrating the youthful anthems of Two Door Cinema Club. The band has grown incredibly since then.

I remember seeing people on my facebook news feed attending their show at Terminal 5 in January who I never would have expected to like the band. That is to say, Two Door Cinema Club have become a pretty big name. It’s no surprise, they write big songs that are meant to be appreciated by a wide audience. A lot of the more uptight types tend to toss them under the mat for some reason, and I really don’t understand it. The boys write youthful songs that have more hooks than one can handle.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the band did a Daytrotter session, because it meant we’d get to hear some songs in acoustic form. The band didn’t disappoint. They re-arranged the songs to fit a more delicate mold, and the result is something refreshing, and impossible to dislike. A comment by Daytrotter user “zkerker” puts it best:

“If this doesn’t put a smile on your face I suspect you are already dead!”

Well said, zkerker.

If you’re a fan of the band, these songs are essential to your collection:
