Earlier today BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe played “Battery Kinzie”, a brand new Fleet Foxes track from upcoming album Helplessness Blues.
“Battery Kinzie” is a more upbeat song that sounds like something that would have happily fit on their debut album. Fleet Foxes have nearly perfected their folk rock aesthetic, and it shows on this track. If the rest of Helplessness Blues is this good, we will be glued to this album this spring.

Helplessness Blues drops May 3rd via Sub Pop. But you can own it in less than a week if you got a lot of extra moolah laying around your apartment. The band is auctioning the vinyl test pressing of the album on Ebay. 100% of the prodededs from the auction will go to the GlobalGiving Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund. So if you have the money, you can have this album very early. The bid is already above $500 and there’s still a week to go.
