[new] Weezer – Memories

So the new single from Weezer, “Memories” is out there. It’s the first song that we are getting from the band since their move to Epitaph Records for the release of new album, Hurley.

I really wanted to love “Memories” more than I did. Sort of sounded flat to me. I do like the sound that they are going for, but the execution is where it’s lacking. The chorus does nothing for me.

“Memories” does sound like they are trying to reach for that old 90’s Weezer song, but something about “Memories” just left me craving more. Hopefully the rest of Hurley can pick it up.
